Two young lives were abruptly cut short in a sudden eruption of violence in the city of Garland. The victims of the deadly January 14 shooting have been identified as 18-year-old Alan Jesus Chavez and 17-year-old Ruben Santibanez Arzola, both hailed from Wylie. The community's tranquility was shattered that Sunday afternoon when gunshots were heard in the 2300 block of West Buckingham Road, according to the Garland Police Department.
Police rapidly converged on the scene at about 3:15 pm, only to find Chavez and Arzola critically injured.
