The suspect reportedly communicated this fraudulent narrative over the phone and later presented himself at their home with an envelope containing a bogus case number to collect the cash.
As stated in a report by WSB-TV, the scam took place on Tuesday when the man, who yet remains unidentified, tactically convinced the couple to part with their money. The Coweta County Sheriff's Office has refrained from releasing the identities of the victims or the suspect in this case.
