Two lives were cut short in a tragic incident on the Dallas North Tollway early Saturday when a BMW plowed into two individuals who had previously been involved in a separate collision. The victims were identified as 24-year-old Kendralla Baldwin of Dallas and 28-year-old Nathan Hattox of Addison, according to FOX 4 News.
The fatal series of events unfolded just after 2 a.m. in the northbound lanes near Forest Lane. After the initial crash, both victims reportedly exited their vehicles and were struck by the third car while they were standing in the roadway, as per the Texas Department of Public Safety. Connor Ehinger, the 18-year-old driver of the BMW that hit them, walked away from the scene without injuries, carrying the weight of the night's calamity.
The DPS has not yet announced charges in the ongoing investigation, which led to the tollway's closure for around three hours. WFAA reached out regarding potential charges but was met with silence, adding to the growing questions from a community in mourning.
The Tollway has since reopened, threading vehicles past a spot now marked by an invisible stain that, in time, will fade from the asphalt but not from the loved ones grieving for Baldwin and Hattox. The incident serves as a stark reminder of the fragility faced by anyone the moment they step onto the tarmac—a moment that, in the case of Baldwin and Hattox, proved fatal.
