Dallas Police are currently conducting an investigation into a fatal shooting that occurred in the early hours of December 29, on the 3100 block of Harry Hines Blvd, where two teenagers were gunned down and left to grapple with life-threatening injuries, according to the Dallas Police Department.
Officers, responding to the 4:40 a.m. call, discovered the young victims both suffering from gunshot wounds. Paramedics rushed the pair for medical attention, but the fight for life for one was a battle soon lost. On the brink of the New Year, a 14-year-old boy was pronounced dead as a result of his injuries, his peer survives but what psychological scars remain are yet untold.
The alleged assailant, a 16-year-old male, was swiftly apprehended and faced two counts of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, charges that now weigh heavier as one will be upgraded to Manslaughter following the death of one of the teens. Due to the juveniles involved, law enforcement is withholding their names in compliance with privacy standards for minors.
As the investigation presses forward under the assigned case number 231727-2023, authorities have called upon the community to step forward with any knowledge that could lead to clarity. Anybody with information can reach Detective Grubbs directly at 214-671-3675 or via email at [email protected], in a collective effort to stitch together the narrative of yet another senseless act of violence that has left one young life extinguished and another scarred in the wake of gunfire.
