
In a grim weekend on Dallas highways, a succession of crashes claimed three lives and injured three others in separate incidents when drivers, who had been involved in earlier accidents, were struck while standing on the freeway. The Texas Department of Public Safety provided details indicating the accidents took place on the Dallas North Tollway and the President George Bush Turnpike.
Early Saturday, around 2 a.m., an Infiniti QX50 and a Honda Civic collided in the northbound lanes of Dallas North Tollway near Forest Lane. According to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, both drivers exited their vehicles and met with tragedy, getting hit by a BMW 330 while on the roadway. The Infiniti's driver, Kendralla Baldwin, 24, of Dallas, and Nathan Hattox, 28, of Addison, the person behind the wheel of the Civic, succumbed to their injuries at Methodist Dallas Medical Center. Notably, the 18-year-old BMW driver did not sustain injuries in the sequence of events and has not been charged as the investigation continues.
Less than 24 hours later, a second wrenching scene unfolded. Around 1 a.m. Sunday, on President George Bush Turnpike near Belt Line Road, a Honda Accord involved in a single-car mishap became inoperable. As reported by The Dallas Morning News, the car's driver, 19-year-old Jasmine Lewis of Arlington, while out of her car was fatally hit by a BMW X3. She was declared dead at the calamity site.
Moreover, in the Dallas North Tollway crash, it has surfaced that minor injuries were treated by those involved. The second BMW's occupants and a passenger from the Accord suffered these injuries. Still, no criminal charges have risen from the tragedy, as both accidents are under scrutiny by authorities.
