A man suspected of several armed robberies and shootings connected to Facebook Marketplace car ads has been nabbed by DeKalb County police. Regi Knight, deemed "extremely dangerous" by officials, was caught yesterday, with police linking him to a spate of violent crimes stemming from social media car listings.
Knight is accused of using Facebook Marketplace to lure victims under the guise of selling a vintage 1977 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme, only to rob them at gunpoint upon their arrival, as reported by FOX 5 Atlanta. In a grim tally, law enforcement detail how he is responsible for nine armed robberies in DeKalb County and has fired shots in each encounter, striking three individuals who are fortunately expected to make a full recovery.
The initial report of the violent spree dates back to Thanksgiving night, when a South Carolina man was robbed, carjacked, and shot at after traveling nearly 400 miles to purchase the car.
