Denver's Birdcall to Open Third Location in McKinney, Dallas-Fort WorthSource: Google Street View

The Denver-based chain Birdcall is spreading its wings with plans to open a third location in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, this time in McKinney. The new 2,663-square-foot outpost on U.S. 380 and Lake Forest Drive could open its doors as early as June, with an estimated construction cost pegged at $1.5 million, according to The Dallas Express.

Residents of McKinney can look forward to Birdcall's hallmark 100% all-natural chicken offerings which, the company website notes has been a hit since their first location opened in Colorado back in 2016. The fast-growing eatery boasts of "a new kind of dining experience — enhanced through a blend of all-natural foods, superior hospitality and service, innovative art and design, and cutting-edge technology," as described on Birdcall’s website. The chain is known for a diverse menu featuring Spicy Szechuan, Deluxe, and Nashville Hot among other burger variants, along with a slew of chicken tender options, salads, and sides, as per The Dallas Express.

With the commitment to sourcing regionally, Birdcall prides itself on local partnerships— getting its chicken directly from Colorado family farms, bread from local bakeries, and spices from Denver-based firms. “Our chef-inspired menu features dishes garnished with ingredients like bacon red onion jam, buttermilk herb mayo, and peanut slaw,” the company stated. “We’re building a company that we are proud of, and that our team members can be proud of", as cited by The Dallas Express.

Additional details from The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, reveal that this new eatery— registered under project number TABS2024008466 —will be a ground-up construction managed by MRP Design Group out of Kennesaw, Georgia. The investment group behind the venture, BMS Investment Group LLC, hails from Frisco, Texas, according to official filings. Important to note too, that the same filings indicate that while the project will be privately funded, the funds are not provided by the tenants themselves.

Upon completion, the McKinney restaurant will join a growing flock of Birdcall locations that currently include ten in Colorado, and two in Arizona, not to forget the already existing Frisco and Carrollton locations in Texas. The Birdcall expansion signals not only the brand's success but also serves as a testament to the DFW area's appetite for innovative dining concepts that prioritize natural, locally sourced ingredients.
