Boozed-up driver Vernon Croft was nabbed by deputies after causing a ruckus and then trying to flee the scene, law enforcement said. Following a disturbance call on January 22, units from Constable Mark Herman's Office were dispatched to the 8700 block of Sunny Gallop Drive. After arriving, officials discovered that the male involved had fled in his vehicle.
A traffic stop was conducted when authorities located a suspect's car. Croft, who was behind the wheel, exhibited signs of being under the influence. He was put through a series of Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, which he failed, confirming suspicions of his intoxication.
"Vernon Croft was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail, charged with Driving While Intoxicated. His bond was set at $500.00 out of County Court 11." Constable Mark Herman's office reported. The breathalyzer results showed his blood alcohol content was 0.236 — nearly triple the legal limit.
