A major vehicle crash has shut down part of Juergen Road near Willow Bend Drive in northwest Harris County, with fire crews, EMS, and constable deputies all on scene and people involved reporting injuries. Drivers in the area are being told to expect delays and to slow down and use caution while first responders work the scene.
The crash was reported by Mark Herman, Harris County Constable Precinct 4 in a traffic alert posted Wednesday morning. The post confirms that Precinct 4 deputies, along with fire department and EMS units, responded to the scene near the Juergen Road and Willow Bend Drive intersection, and that those involved in the crash have reported injuries. Precinct 4 did not release further details on the number of vehicles involved, the cause of the crash, or the extent of anyone's injuries.
Deputies Push Real-Time Alerts as Scene Clears
Precinct 4 is urging residents to download its C4 NOW mobile app, which provides live feeds on crime, arrests, safety tips, and traffic accidents, so drivers can track closures as they happen. The agency also maintains active Facebook and Instagram accounts for pushing out real-time public safety updates, a strategy it has leaned on for other recent incidents. Just three days ago, Precinct 4 issued a similar alert when a crash snarled traffic on East Airtex Drive, closing roadways and redirecting vehicles during the investigation.
As the largest constable's office in the country, Harris County Precinct 4 operates with an annual budget near $103 million and more than 670 sworn deputies covering roughly 1.1 million residents, according to the Harris County Precinct 4 Constable's Office. The precinct, led by Constable Mark Herman, serves major unincorporated north Harris County communities including Cypress, Spring, Tomball, and Klein — all areas where two-lane roads built for a rural past now carry the traffic of fast-growing suburbs.
A Pattern of Serious Crashes Along Juergen Road
Wednesday's closure is not the first serious incident on this stretch of road. Just two months ago, emergency dispatchers and Harris County deputies responded to another major two-vehicle crash on Juergen Road near Bauer Hockley Road, roughly three miles west of Willow Bend Drive, according to the Texan Report. In October 2024, a woman was struck and killed by a vehicle along nearby Cypress Rosehill Road near Juergen Road, just south of the Grand Parkway, as reported by KHOU 11 News; the driver in that case remained on scene as sheriff's deputies investigated.
KHOU 11 News describes Juergen Road as a multi-mile, two-lane roadway running south of the Grand Parkway through an area still transitioning from agricultural land to residential subdivisions. That kind of legacy rural infrastructure is increasingly strained as suburban growth pushes outward from Houston, adding traffic volume the road was never designed to handle.
Countywide Traffic Enforcement and Safety Numbers
Precinct 4 deputies are no strangers to traffic enforcement — the agency executed more than 104,000 traffic stops in 2023, the highest total of any constable precinct in Harris County, according to data from the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement cited by Houston Landing. Harris County as a whole recorded 517 total traffic fatalities in 2025, keeping it among the highest-volume counties in Texas for fatal motor vehicle crashes, per an analysis of TxDOT crash data reported by Hoodline via Axios Houston.
Under Texas Transportation Code § 545.157, the state's Move Over or Slow Down law requires drivers approaching stopped emergency vehicles with active lights to either vacate the adjacent lane or slow to at least 20 mph below the posted speed limit. Failure to comply can carry a Class C misdemeanor fine of up to $200, or a Class B misdemeanor if someone is injured, according to FindLaw. Precinct 4 has not yet released updated information on the number of people injured in Wednesday's crash, the vehicles involved, or any potential citations, and further details are expected only once accident reconstruction teams complete their investigation.
