Arlington's small businesses in the East Arlington area are about to get a spotlight thrown on them thanks to a recent city initiative. This year, ten lucky businesses will be brought into the limelight as part of the city's effort to celebrate and promote local entrepreneurship. The initiative, run by the iCARE Ambassador Team within the City’s Planning and Development Services department, isn't new; it's been championing small enterprises for half a decade. But it's the first time they're zoning in specifically on East Arlington.

Small Business Promotion Weeks will kick off in March 2024, with the city partnering with Canales Furniture, a local success story. These weekly features are a chance for small businesses to strut their stuff. "We want more of our residents to know about all that you do!" expressed the City of Arlington, Texas. Each selected business will get the opportunity to meet the sponsoring team leaders, be profiled in an article on city websites, which rakes in thousands of visitors daily, and have their social media pages buzz with activity. It doesn't stop there, though, the chosen businesses are also invited to leave a lasting impression at the One Start Development Center in City Hall, where their promotional trinkets can sit pretty for visitors to see.

It's a first-come, first-serve deal, which means eager businesses have until February 14, to drop Ashlee Mosley, an email and snatch one of the ten available spots. The annual initiative, among other things, outfits a refreshment table with a banner displaying the business of the week and they're welcome to pepper the table with their promo items—anything from flyers to freebies.

"The business will be highlighted in an article on the City’s website, and social media accounts, both of which are viewed by thousands of visitors each day," according to the City of Arlington, Texas, which also encourages businesses to share their featured article on their digital platforms. It's a circle of promotion meant to boost visibility and, hopefully, the bottom lines of local ventures that keep Arlington ticking.

East Arlington business owners looking to grab a slice of the limelight should reach out pronto. With only ten spots on the docket for the entirety of 2024, it's an opportunity too good to let slip by.
