A routine day in a San José mobile home community was disrupted when a gas leak prompted an emergency response. The San José Fire Department reported via X that crews were on the scene at Moss Hollow Drive, where contractors working in a resident's backyard had inadvertently cut a private gas line. The incident, which occurred early today, led to the evacuation of the household directly affected and encouraged surrounding neighbors to take shelter within their homes.
To contain the potential threat, the leak set off a swift response from local emergency services, including the San José Fire Department and Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E). "A private gas line was severed by contractors working in the backyard of a residence," detailed a tweet from the fire department. The gas provider, @PGE4Me, was promptly dispatched and is currently securing gas to the community so that repairs can be undertaken.
