Encinitas Favorite Eat Crispy Burger Sets Sights on New Convoy Street Outpost in Kearny MesaSource: Google Street View

San Diego's beloved Encinitas burger joint is gearing up to conquer new territory with sizzling hot plans to expand its smash burger empire. Eat Crispy Burger, renowned in North County for its customizable Angus beef patties and signature sides, has sights set on Convoy Street in Kearny Mesa for its latest outpost. According to Eater San Diego, the new location is primed to start serving by early March, nestled next to Yakyudori restaurant and Starbucks, complete with a 50-seat patio to accommodate the hungry hordes.

The brainchild of Ramzy Rahib and Angela Ablahad, Eat Crispy Burger has quickly become a culinary fixture since its debut in April 2022. Rahib, whose gastronomic roots dig deep into San Diego's food scene, alongside Ablahad, a licensed contractor who marries construction nous with marketing prowess, are both determined to replicate the success of their Encinitas base. As reported by SanDiegoVille, patrons on Convoy Street can expect the same delicious flat-top seared smash burgers made with freshly delivered, never-frozen Angus beef and the alternative Impossible meat substitute for the plant-based crowd.

This burgeoning burger business is a family affair, with the couple's three eldest offspring regularly joining forces to staff the cash register and whip up milkshakes during the summer. "We’re very excited to be on Convoy Street. We understand it’s a foodie area and are looking forward to joining the culture there," Ramzy Rahib told Eater San Diego. An added perk for future customers, the Rahibs are obtaining a beer and wine license, promising to elevate the indulgent experience of a savory burger with a cool sip to wash it down.

The Rahib family doesn't plan on resting on their laurels — with aspirations to aggressively expand their footprint across the San Diego landscape by the end of 2024. The anticipated locations include spots in Oceanside, downtown San Diego, and the Eastlake neighborhood of Chula Vista. The commitment to growth reflects their confidence in the brand. It has made headway into local bellies with offerings beyond burgers, featuring avocado oil-fried crispy chicken sandwiches, salad bowls, and a breakfast menu with a pastrami and egg sandwich. And let's not forget the milkshakes, ranging from timeless classics to the 'Crazy Ding Dong Shake', a rapture-inducing blend of vanilla ice cream and Hostess Ding Dong that has quickly become a menu standout, according to SanDiegoVille.
