A Fort Worth man faces charges for his alleged role in the brazen armed robbery of a Lake Worth Walgreens in October, officials said. Henry Pierre Rogers, aged 35, was indicted on robbery and possession of firearms by a felon on Wednesday, according to WFAA.
The indictment comes in the aftermath of the early-morning heist carried out at the pharmacy located at 6200 Lake Worth Boulevard, an incident that resulted in the theft of $5,000 in cash and an undisclosed amount of controlled substances. Rogers, together with an accomplice, is accused of overpowering pharmacy staff using firearms, where one suspect held a pharmacist at gunpoint, directing a stun gun towards the front desk clerk, as reported by The Dallas Morning News.
Rogers was arrested alongside another individual after police responded to the shocking crime. The pair allegedly terrorized staff members, with one dragging the pharmacist by the hair to a back office, according to authorities. At the same point, the other assailant reportedly compelled a clerk to unlock the store's safe at gunpoint.
Rogers was found in possession of five guns, despite his status as a felon, which prohibits him from possessing firearms. Authorities have included a forfeiture notice for the firearms within the court documents. The case against Rogers is continuing as the investigation into the robbery progresses, with further details yet to surface regarding the second suspect and their involvement.
