Her three decades as a detective and community engagement paint her as a local stalwart in the Imani Pearls Community Development and several other community groups, Illinois Governor Pritzker's office disclosed.
The health sector saw a robust infusion of expertise with Lance Kovacs, Laura Minzer, and Patrick Besler assuming roles on the Illinois Health Benefits Exchange Advisory Committee, Kovacs, sporting a hefty resume including stints at IHA and the Illinois State Medical Society, will delve into hospital regulation and policy. Minzer is leaping from advocating for insurers to advisory duties, while Besler transitions from steering BCBSIL's government relations to advocating for health care policy—these appointments are pending the Senate's salute.
Steven Powell and Brian Sullivan will keep their seats at the Illinois Liquor Control Commission. Powell, packing years of union leadership, couples his trade know-how with a political savvy honed in Mundelein politics. Sullivan, a former mayor and blossoming booze industry entrepreneur, bringing local legislative chops to the mix.
