Per 11Alive's news, the altercation at the store involved Rogers and a man who was detained shortly after the incident, though he was not charged. The situation escalated when Rogers, having fled the scene initially, returned in a different vehicle, prompting officers to attempt to detain her. Sgt. Michele Pihera of the Gwinnett County Police Department explained, "an officer tried to jump into the car through the passenger's side door to try to pull her out and she was Tased multiple times."
Rogers then barricaded herself inside her home with her four children, including three minors and one young adult. Sgt. Pihera stated that the woman was armed and had "made threats to shoot officers." The children, believed to have been at the home before Rogers arrived, are now in the custody of their father following the incident. Rogers, after the standoff with SWAT officers, walked out of the front door and was arrested "without incident." She was taken to the hospital for reasons due to being Tased before being booked.
The extent of the criminal charges Rogers will face is yet to be detailed, while the man involved in the initial altercation at the Tractor Supply Co. will not face charges, as stated by police.
