In a crackdown on local crime, constables made swift work of nabbing two burglary suspects accused of targeting vehicles parked at a gym on Willow Chase Boulevard. The incident occurred on January 26, 2024, when officers from Constable Mark Herman's squad spied the duo during a routine patrol, according to a post on the Harris County Precinct 4 Constable's Office Facebook page
The suspects, later identified as Darnell Walker and Harold Davis, were allegedly caught in the act of breaking into a car. When approached by the deputies, one suspect bolted on foot, while the other made a getaway attempt in a vehicle. The lawmen giving chase did not falter until both were in custody. "Both suspects were arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail. Darnell Walker was charged with Burglary to a Motor Vehicle and Evading Arrest. Harold Davis was charged with Burglary to a Motor Vehicle and Evading Arrest in a Motor Vehicle," Constable Mark Herman detailed in the statement.
A breach of the peace was avoided due to the vigilance of the constables on patrol, ensuring that any threat to the property of those striving for health and wellness at their local gym was curtailed.
The bond and court dates for the accused had not yet been set. Following this engagement, law enforcement reaffirmed their commitment to patrol and secure local spaces, ensuring this is not a tale soon to be repeated. Current jail records for Walker and Davis have not been made publicly available, and Constable Herman has yet to provide an updated statement regarding their legal proceedings or the specifics surrounding the pursuit and capture of the suspects.
