In a recent chase that sounds like it's straight out of an action movie, a law enforcement canine named "Tejas Briones" played hero by nabbing suspects who led deputies on a wild pursuit in a stolen car in Harris County, Texas.
Deputies from Constable Mark Herman's Office attempted to pull over the stolen vehicle yesterday only to be defied by the driver who refused to stop, this initiated a pursuit that resulted in the driver crashing the car in the 800 block of FM 1960 Road, according to a Facebook post by the Constable's Office. The aftermath saw the two occupants of the vehicle attempt a desperate escape on foot, but they wouldn't get far.
The passenger, Andri Diaz, was quickly detained by the deputies on the scene. In a turn that showed crime doesn't pay—or at least doesn't get you far—Constable K9 "Tejas Briones" successfully tracked down and apprehended the driver, later identified as Ethan Jackson; Jackson didn't evade the law, nor the canine's sharp senses.
Post-encounter, Jackson was transported to a local hospital to tend to injuries from the K9 encounter; his bite from "Tejas Briones" serving as a stark consequence of his criminal escapades, after treatment, he was released and then both he and Diaz were arrested and charged, "They were arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail. Ethan Jackson was charged with Unauthorized Use of Motor Vehicle and Evading Arrest Andri Diaz was charged with Evading Arrest," Constable Mark Herman's office relayed.
