A Hays High School employee finds herself behind bars, charged with engaging in an improper relationship with a student. Danielle Elizabeth Dunn, a 32-year-old paraprofessional clerk at the school, is facing serious allegations of misconduct and sexual grooming, authorities confirmed.

Dunn was slapped with one count of improper relationship between an educator and student and another for child grooming. According to Fox San Antonio, she turned herself in to Hays County Jail earlier today. Hays CISD had already officially terminated Dunn's employment earlier in the week, on Monday, after the allegations surfaced and before she could make her return to the school.

The report that sparked the investigation claimed that Dunn had engaged in inappropriate behavior with a 17-year-old student. According to Fox 7 Austin, this led the district to act swiftly, reporting the incident to both the Kyle Police Department and Child Protective Services. Kyle Police Department conducted what they described as an "exhaustive" investigation, culminating in a warrant for Dunn's arrest.

"We know these incidents are unsettling for our community, but we are working together with the school district during this difficult time to to provide our students and affected families with the justice, care and support they deserve," Kyle Police Chief Jeff Barnett said, in a statement obtained by Fox San Antonio. Police have also put out a call for any additional information, urging those with knowledge to reach out through various tip lines and resources, including the Hays County Crime Stoppers and the Kyle Police Department's contact numbers.

Dunn had only been with the district since the current school year began on August 22. She had successfully passed all requisite fingerprinting and background checks which were actively monitored, making her eligible for the clerk role.
