Tragedy struck Houston on Thursday morning when a young woman was killed in a vehicular collision on Bellaire Boulevard, as per city authorities. The Houston Police Department is currently piecing together the circumstances that led to the fatal incident which occurred around 7:50 a.m. at the 8100 block of Bellaire Boulevard.

The 22-year-old female driver, whose identity is yet to be disclosed pending formal identification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences, was behind the wheel of a Toyota RAV4 making what would be her final turn from Waldo Street onto Bellaire Boulevard, according to Houston police officer reports. As a blue MINI Cooper, speeding westbound, crashed into her vehicle; the force of the impact was such that it sent her to an early and untimely demise, leaving.

HPD's Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant E. Alejandro and Senior Police Officer R. Saenz reported that the MINI's 18-year-old male driver, along with his passenger, survived the crash with only minor injuries; after being questioned, the young man was found not to exhibit any signs of intoxication when the crash occurred. Both individuals were taken to a local hospital for treatment and assessment.

The Houston Police have yet to conclude their investigation into the crash.
