Authorities have released new images of two individuals they believe may hold the key to unraveling the mystery behind a brutal daylight killing in Houston. The surveillance photos, disclosed to the public to solicit tips, show a Hispanic male and female sought for questioning in connection to the stabbing death of 51-year-old Paulino Argueta.
Argueta's body was discovered on Monday afternoon, around 3:20 p.m., lying in the street at 6900 Avenue S. The Houston Police Department, responding to reports of a person down, found Argueta unresponsive with a stab wound. The Houston Fire Department paramedics declared the man deceased at the grisly scene. A red Toyota Tacoma pickup truck, distinguished by a black toolbox in the truck's bed, was spotted fleeing the vicinity shortly after the stabbing, according to the City of Houston News.
Detectives D. Lunceford and D. Davis of HPD's Homicide Division are meticulously piecing together the events leading up to Argueta’s untimely demise. They hope that the images distributed will encourage witnesses or anyone with pertinent details to step forward. Urging cooperation, the department has asked that individuals with information reach out to the Homicide Division directly at 713-308-3600, or to maintain anonymity, contact Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
