Legoland California Resort is about to take you back to the prehistoric age with its latest attraction. According to information obtained by Patch, the park recently unveiled a towering Lego Stegosaurus model, fully animated and comprising over 119,000 Lego bricks. This colossal creation, weighing a hefty 672 pounds and stretching more than 11 feet in length, will anchor the upcoming Dino Valley section, set to open this spring.

A team of dedicated master model builders has poured no less than 495 hours into constructing this epic herbivore. The Lego Stegosaurus is the first in a series of 17 models that promise to truly animate Dino Valley—literally and figuratively—complete with three dino-mite rides, according to the park's official announcement.

The area will include a revamped Dino Dig area and even character meet-and-greets. The highly-anticipated Explorer River Quest ride and Duplo Little Dino Trail are all part of the roaring lineup. For those needing more speed, the Coastersaurus will continue to offer high-flying views of Dino Valley's newest denizens.

As detailed on Legoland's website, visitors can look forward to an interactive experience. The Dino Outpost will reveal more about these ancient creatures through play and allow future paleontologists to uncover buried bones and create their own LEGO dinosaurs. Plus, the rides are considered thrilling and engaging, with the DUPLO Little Dino Trail offering a scavenger hunt vibe and the Explorer River Quest daring guests to locate the rarest LEGO dinosaur of them all.
