Little Italy to Welcome 'Roman Wolves' Italian Restaurant and Bar in San Diego Next MonthSource: Google Street View

In an unfolding culinary narrative, Little Italy is bracing for the debut of Roman Wolves, a Roman-styled Italian restaurant and bar. Set to open its doors next month, the spot will occupy a prominent corner at Fir and Kettner in the Broadstone building – taking over from its short-lived predecessor, the Heights, and the erstwhile Cafe Gratitude, San Diego Eater reports.

Roman Wolves is prepping for eager patrons with a whopping 4,000-square-foot realm redesigned to play host to a generous bar and lounge area where Italian spirits, alongside a slew of lower ABV spritzes, will be the essence of the libation experience. Setting a backdrop that marries relics of ancient Rome and modern touches, the ambiance is a homage to Italy's famed capital. "Roman Wolves is more than a bar and restaurant; it's a celebration of epicurean tapestry of what Italians call the Eternal City," Nino Cusimano, the owner, said.

The proprietor behind Rusticucina, Cusimano along with chef Enrico de Santis pedal back to their roots, promising a menu steeped in Roman traditions, an indulgence in cacio e pepe, pasta carbonara, saltimbocca and more. The Roman Wolves' menu is a testament to Cusimano’s Sicilian heritage and a nod to Roman epicurean staples, complete with street food favorites like suppli. Patrons with an affinity for Roman Empire aesthetics, will find themselves ensconced in a space that brilliantly dovetails the ancient with the contemporary, as per the restaurant’s official website.

As the restaurant gears up for its grand unveiling in February, the dining schedule is set with dinner services throughout the week and lunches available over the weekends. An afternoon happy hour promises to be a daily occasion, as noted in the restaurant’s listing on OpenTable. Located at 1980 Kettner Blvd, Roman Wolves will extend its gregarious hospitality from lunch on Sundays starting at noon, until late evening hours for dinner-goers on weekdays, and an hour beyond on Friday and Saturday nights.
