In a daring broad-daylight incident, police apprehended a man accused of burglarizing a local pharmacy before attempting a desperate escape on the 14700 block of the North Freeway. The suspect, later identified as Rahkeen Jones, made a break for it when deputies from Constable Mark Herman's Office arrived at the scene on January 21.

Despite his efforts to flee, Jones couldn't outpace the law. Deputies who responded to the burglary call pursued him on foot and eventually deployed a taser to halt his getaway, a constable's office post detailed the takedown. After the foot chase and scuffle, Jones was slapped with charges of Burglary of a Building and Evading Arrest.

"Rahkeen Jones was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail, charged with Burglary of a Building and Evading Arrest. His total bond was set at $6,500.00 out of the 182nd District Court." Constable Mark Herman said in the statement after the arrest.

Details of the burglary itself remain under wraps, as law enforcement proceed with their investigation.
