
Chaos erupted on Chicago's North Side after a road rage altercation turned violent, leaving a 35-year-old man critically injured from a gunshot wound to the face, police said. The victim, behind the wheel of a Jeep, was making a U-turn on the 1600 block of West Foster Avenue in Andersonville around 7:55 p.m. Sunday when another man stepped out of a Chevy Tahoe and fired multiple shots, according to the Chicago Sun-Times.
The man was rushed to Illinois Masonic Medical Center, in a critical state. In the frenzy that followed, a person of interest was detained by the Chicago Police for questioning. This rapid development was confirmed by Ald. Andre Vasquez (40th), who described the gruesome event as stemming from a "road rage incident," as reported by the Sun-Times.
The search for more information continues, with law enforcement urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has any relevant knowledge to step forward.
