
A man was fatally shot Friday night while dining at a Brockton sushi restaurant. The violence erupted inside the Hibachi Sushi Supreme Buffet on Crescent Street at approximately 7:25 p.m. The Plymouth County District Attorney's office later confirmed the victim's death, as reported by Boston 25 News.
A masked individual stormed the restaurant, opened fire, and struck a man seated at a table, according to a witness account shared with Boston 25 News, the restaurant plunged into chaos as patrons screamed panicked, and hid under tables before fleeing the establishment. Despite the turmoil, no other injuries were reported from the scene, authorities have yet to release additional details about the victim or perpetrator.
According to a report from CBS News Boston, the ongoing investigation is jointly undertaken by Massachusetts State Police and Brockton authorities. A spokesperson from the Plymouth County District Attorney’s office confirmed the details of the incident.
Satiz Patel, who works at a liquor store next to the buffet, told Boston 25 News, “It’s pretty scary I guess,” and added that the plaza is typically a bustling and secure environment, typically not a cause for concern until the late evening hours. A request for comment from the mayor's office of Brockton has been made by Boston 25 News, yet the mayor has not released a statement at this time.
