
A man has lost his life in Englewood after being found shot and later crashing his vehicle. The incident occurred early Sunday, highlighting a series of violent shootings across Chicago's South Side over the weekend. The male victim, yet to be identified by authorities, was found in the driver's seat with a fatal chest wound after his pickup truck collided with a tree on the 6900 block of South Parnell Avenue, the Chicago Sun-Times reported.
He was pronounced dead at the University of Chicago Medical Center, according to Chicago police. This tragedy spanned from 6:00 p.m. Saturday till the early hours of Sunday, during which at least eight other individuals were injured in shootings across the South Side, as reported by WLS-TV. The escalation of violence has prompted an ongoing investigation by area detectives, however, there was no immediate word on suspects or arrests.
The overnight violence not only claimed a life but left multiple people critically injured, ushering an urgent plea from Chicago police for any information about the shootings.
