
A manhunt is underway after a man allegedly threatened a store employee at a CVS Pharmacy near the University of Texas at Austin, authorities say. The unsettling incident occurred on Thursday, January 25, around 9:13 p.m. at the 2402 Guadalupe Street location, just steps from the bustling UT campus, according to CBS Austin.
The suspect, described as a Black male with dreadlock-styled hair and wearing a ski mask over his face, reportedly entered the CVS armed and promptly made threats against an employee before fleeing on foot he vanished before police arrived at the scene, there were no injuries reported, this according to the FOX 7 Austin.
Austin Police Department (APD) alongside the University of Texas Police Department (UTPD) officers scoured the vicinity to locate the alleged suspect. Both departments are still actively investigating the incident which has shaken the local community.
With the suspect last seen donned in all camouflage clothing, law enforcement officials are urging anyone holding information regarding the crime to report it to APD by calling 311 despite the clear description, the suspect skirts the clutches of the law and his whereabouts are still unknown, a source of discomfit for students and locals alike.
