
The Massachusetts State Police are intensifying their pursuit of a suspect connected to a fatal shooting that shook Fall River last year, adding him to their list of Most Wanted individuals. The suspect, Tajon J. Saxon, 26, is accused of a murder that occurred in May 2023 and is also subject to additional arrest warrants for a variety of unrelated crimes.
Tragedy struck on County Street in Fall River on May 13, when multiple 911 callers alerted authorities to a shooting. Police found 23-year-old Diamonte Odom with a life-threatening gunshot wound to the head. Odom was rushed to a nearby Rhode Island hospital but later died from an his injuries. In the wake of the incident, the Fall River Police Department Major Crimes Division, together with the State Police Detective Unit for Bristol County, identified Saxon as the alleged shooter and issued an arrest warrant for his apprehension.
According to the Massachusetts State Police website, Saxon is described as a black male, 5’10” tall, weighing around 160 lbs., with brown hair and eyes. He's known to have used an alias, Jameel Carr, and has connections to the Fall River area, Rhode Island, and New York. Authorities warn that he should be considered armed and dangerous, particularly as the firearm used in the May homicide has not been found.
Aside from the charges relating to the May 13 homicide, Saxon is wanted for several other criminal acts, including being an accessory after the fact of a murder, interference with a police officer, and various narcotics and vehicle offenses.
