A massive blaze tore through a home in Lytle, Texas, early Tuesday morning, with multiple fire squads rushing to combat the inferno, according to officials. Flames were already devouring the building when responders arrived at the scene around 6:30 a.m. on the 800 block of County Road 6848, KENS 5 reported.
To painstakingly contain the fire, the scale of the emergency saw an initial duo of crews from Lytle quickly augmented by support from neighboring districts. A firefighter named Roger Garcia was quoted by KENS 5 saying, "There was no stopping this fire." Ultimately, twelve units responded to the emergency call.
The house was consumed by the blaze to the point where the roof collapsed, leading to the total destruction of the property. Video captured at the scene demonstrated the severity of the fire, with the house completely engulfed. As of this reporting, firefighters have contained the fire, but continue to work on extinguishing persistent hot spots. There have been no injuries reported in connection with the fire.
The origin and cause of the fire remain under investigation, and officials state that determining the precise cause might prove difficult due to the extensive damage wrought by the flames. Medina County Sheriff's Office has advised the public to avoid the area, as noted by KENS 5.
