The Uvalde native and University of Texas film professor was caught on camera at the amusement park, clad in a jacket, hoodie, and sunglasses, reports the San Antonio Express-News.
Adored for his roles in "Dallas Buyers Club" and "Dazed and Confused," McConaughey who cheered on the Longhorns at the recent Sugar Bowl was spotted near the Carnival of Chaos ride, spending quality time with his family despite being tipped off by the presence of a larger-than-usual security detail according to a TikTok video by user @samax250, the video which has now amassed over 24,000 views was referenced by My San Antonio.
McConaughey, who moved from Los Angeles to Austin in 2011 with his wife, model and designer Camila Alves, and their children, seems to favor the simpler pleasures, with TikTok user Sandi noting, "I noticed he likes the Joker ride at Six Flags."
As one of Texas' most prominent figures, McConaughey ferries between being a silver-screen star and a professor shaping young minds at UT Austin and even then he finds time to be the university’s good luck charm, this family outing clearly strikes a chord with fans, as one TikTok commenter by the name Simona lamented, "Man!!!! I would love to have seen him," meanwhile another named Emily expressed frustration at missing out, "I was literally there," she said, "I'm so upset I didn't see him."
