Jose Alfredo Martinez, 32, was taken into custody on a slew of charges, including running a social media account used to set up illegal racing events. Investigators allege that since June 2022, Martinez orchestrated numerous high-risk takeovers of Miami-Dade intersections, attracting hundreds to gather and participate in prohibited activities such as racing and stunt driving. Caught in the act of fleeing from a Florida Highway Patrol officer during a traffic stop, the suspect momentarily gave police the slip, but his abandoned truck, containing invoices with his name and address, provided another trail back to him, as reported by NBC Miami.
Martinez's arrest also resurfaces from a substantial backlog of charges. Already out on bond for aggravated assault and resisting officers with violence, he now finds himself held without bond, awaiting judicial proceedings.
