Miami residents, brace yourselves for a dash of cool air. Today's forecast calls for mostly sunny skies but don't let that fool you, the temperatures will hover in the low 70s, just a touch below what's typical for this slice of South Florida paradise, the National Weather Service reports. The North wind, blowing at around 13 to 15 mph, with gusts that may reach up to 21 mph, is setting the scene for a fresh day. “Mostly sunny, with a high near 73,” reads the data from National Weather Service.
But there's more chill on the way. Tonight's low is predicted to dip down to a crisp 52 degrees, which could stand as some of the coldest air we've seen this season. North winds will persist throughout the night, with speeds around 16 mph, and gusts possibly hitting the 22 mph mark. "Tomorrow will be even cooler in the morning! Lows fall about 10 degrees and will settle in the low 50s,” reports NBC Miami.
The forecast suggests a continuation of cooler temperatures with mostly cloudy skies well into Sunday when highs will barely graze 70 degrees. Breezy conditions are not going anywhere soon, as north winds from 15 to 18 mph will be the norm, with gusts that might climb to 26 mph. As the week progresses, lows will remain comfortable in the 60s and highs in the 70s till we approach Wednesday when the high might reach 80 degrees under partly sunny conditions.
Even though the cooler air is taking South Florida by surprise, don't expect any refreshing rain to accompany it, rain chances are staying low throughout the weekend and into the next week. Rain chances remain low this weekend and into the following week as confirmed by NBC Miami's weather forecast. As we move into midweek, the temperature will warm up, reaching the high 70s and low 80s, so residents will soon return to their familiar warm and breezy tropical backdrop.
