Miami residents have been feeling the heat with back-to-back record high temperatures, but a cold front sweeping through is set to bring some relief. According to a report by the NBC Miami, both Miami and Fort Lauderdale hit a scorching 86 degrees before the temperature began to drop on Saturday night. The front that is now pushing south of the area has ushered in cooler, less humid air accompanied by scattered showers and a low of 64 degrees.
Sunday's weather forecast suggested mostly cloudy skies and breezy conditions, with northerly gusts reaching up to 20 mph, the high peaked at a more moderate 72 degrees as detailed by the same NBC report; showers were scattered before 3 p.m. followed by isolated showers afterward though mainly dry conditions were expected by evening. The start of the week will maintain mostly cloudy skies and hold a slim 20% chance of rain—Monday's high is anticipated to edge up again to a near 78 degrees.
Looking ahead, South Florida should brace for showers and storms as another cold front is predicted to roll in by Tuesday, lasting into early Wednesday, as documented by a recent update from The National Weather Service. This front will not just bring precipitation but also cooler days down the line; Thursday morning is expected to be the week's coldest with lows dipping into the upper 50s.
In the days to follow, Tuesday shows a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms cropping up after 2 p.m. with skies staying mostly sunny until then, and winds could get as gusty as 18 mph according to the Weather Service the high should reach up to a warm 81 degrees. The changeable skies continue into the week with Wednesday bearing a 40 percent chance of morning showers before the weather clears to partly sunny with a high near 75 degrees.
