Step up your winter game and chill with a hands-on ice lantern crafting class at Water Works Park this February. According to an announcement on the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board's website, locals are invited to light up their lives by learning to craft glowing ice sculptures under the guidance of the so-called Ice Wrangler from Wintercraft.

Attendees can expect to not only have a blast but also to walk away with a remarkable piece of frozen art. The class promises to dive right into the essentials of creating captivating ice lanterns, with lessons in design, texture, and lighting to bring each piece to shimmering life.

Included in the class fee is a Fluted 5-gallon Ice Lantern Mold for participants to take home, although they'll need to supply their own 5-gallon bucket. Additionally, our neighbors at Owamni will provide a taste of warmth with a sampling of teas from Northwoods-based Anahata Herbals. Spots for the event are limited, and would-be ice artists can secure a spot by registering online at minneapolisparks.org/register.
