Minnesota's Bartz Brothers Soldier On in Snow Sculpture Challenge Amid New Brighton Festival ChillsSource: newbrightonmn.gov

In the face of a frosty challenge, Minnesota's own Bartz Brothers are taking snow sculpting to the next level, adapting to a whimsical dance with the elements. The famous duo, Austin and Connor Bartz, are braving extreme cold to create a massive sculpture at the New Brighton 'Brave the Brrr' winter festival. Initially thwarted by unseasonably warm temperatures, the brothers have now found themselves in a race against time—and temperature—as they truck in snow and even resort to indoor preparations to keep their project on track, reported by KARE 11.

Despite the chill, the Bartz Brothers remain undeterred. "We'll get it done, it's just going to take longer than we thought," Austin said, as per KARE 11.

The New Brighton 'Brave the Brrr' festival, running throughout January, features more than just the impressive Bartz Snow Sculptures. Visitors can look forward to a gamut of frosty festivities including a farmers market, a "winter brrrzarre," snow sculpting classes, and even a gnome search. Food trucks and an indoor market will round out the offerings, defying the cold snap with a warm welcome for event-goers, according to New Brighton Official website.

Other festival activities, like the Kids Adventure Race, promise thrilling obstacles for the younger crowd. Meanwhile, adult spectators, who are not allowed on the course, will have designated areas to watch the excitement unfold. Despite the snow sculpture's delayed completion, which was hoping for January 15, the festival aims for a grand finale with an Amateur Snow Sculpture Contest scheduled for the first weekend of February. With a full moon bonfire slated for January 25, 'Brave the Brrr' isn't cooling down anytime soon—even as the Highland Hills ski area threatens closure if the wind chill dares to dip below a marrow-chilling 35 below.
