
A grizzly scene unfolded on the northbound lanes of Interstate 17 Wednesday night, as a motorcyclist was killed in a collision near Union Hills Drive, officials said.
According to ABC15, the accident occurred around 7:30 p.m., prompting authorities to close a segment of the freeway. Details on the cause of the crash were scant, but the fatality was confirmed by the authorities.
While the freeway was sealed off in the crash's aftermath, it has since been reopened to the relief of Phoenix commuters. FOX10 Phoenix offered that, the crash was described by DPS simply as "a serious injury collision involving a motorcycle."
