Early Sunday morning, tragedy struck on Naper Boulevard in Naperville when a 2004 Nissan veered off the road and slammed into a tree, leaving one man dead and another seriously injured. The Naperville Police and Fire departments were called to the scene near Bayhill Avenue following the accident which occurred around 6:15 a.m. The initial investigation suggests that the driver, a 62-year-old man, was driving northbound when the car suddenly left the roadway.
The impact was severe enough to seriously harm both the driver and his passenger, a 57-year-old man, who was rushed to a local hospital. The passenger's injuries proved fatal. To fully understand the cause of the incident, Naperville Police's Traffic Unit is actively investigating, and they urge any individuals who might possess additional information to immediately step forward.
Officials have currently withheld the identities of the two men involved in the crash pending the results of the ongoing investigation.
