An Aloha, Oregon man's days of freedom came to an abrupt end after a federal judge handed him a hefty prison sentence for possessing and distributing a trove of child pornography. Jason Reuben, 42, will now spend 80 months behind bars, followed by a decade on supervised release, a punitive measure for his crime against children.

Reuben was slammed with a fine in the form of $8,000 in special assessments, and an additional $14,000 in restitution, after pleading guilty to the distribution of sexually explicit images and videos of children, some horrifically young. According to the U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of Oregon, it was an Ohio-based law enforcement team that first blew the whistle on Reuben's appalling activities in June 2022, after infiltrating a private Kik chat group teeming with such illegal content.

Investigators traced six chilling Cyber Tipline reports from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children back to Reuben's IP address. This led to the grim find at his residence where more than 48,000 images and videos were seized, leaving no question as to his guilt when Reuben copped to his sickening predilections in court.

Reuben, dealt with the consequences of his actions on October 19, 2023, when he pleaded guilty, saving the court the spectacle of a trial. The bust, a combined effort by Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) and the New Albany Police Department, culminates in Reuben's requirement to register as a sex offender upon his eventual release. Assistant U.S. Attorneys Charlotte Kelley and Gary Sussman, responsible for bringing Reuben's case to a close, have ensured that justice for the voiceless victims in this case has been sorely served.
