In a bold display of defiance, a duo of female shoplifters swept through El Cajon storefronts, amassing a trove of stolen goods before law enforcement put a halt to their thievery. According to a statement released by El Cajon Police, the incident commenced yesterday when one woman executed a brazen cart-and-dash at a Walmart and later, at an Aldi, where an audacious punch was thrown at an intervening employee.

The team, composed of Alex Smith, born September 3, 1995, and Elaine Bouis-Medrano, born August 15, 1994, struck first at Walmart on Fletcher Parkway around 6 PM, loading merchandise into their cart before disappearing into the evening in a white Nissan Sentra. The suspects, unaffected by the proximity to justice, continued their spree at an Aldi just half an hour later—where the physical altercation upped the ante, while their companion, prepped the getaway car.
The rapid response of law enforcement culminated in the successful apprehension of both women, who were found with the vehicle in question, packed with pilfered products. Their identities tied them to both locations, sealing their fate with felony charges behind bars at Las Colinas Detention Facility. Chief Mike Moulton of the El Cajon Police did not mince words, saying, “The El Cajon Police Department will use every resource available to hold criminals who commit these types of thefts accountable. Criminal acts will not be tolerated, and will have consequences for those who commit them.”
