Firefighters in Pflugerville, Texas, had their hands full as they battled a brush fire that scorched 6 acres of land on Monday. The blaze was reported in the 19600 block of North Heatherwilde Boulevard, located just above State Highway 45, according to information from the CBS Austin website.
The Pflugerville Fire Department was quick to respond and, with support from neighboring agencies, including Hutto Fire Rescue and Travis County Emergency Services District 12, was successful in taming the aggressive flames. By late afternoon, the fire department took to Facebook to assure the community, stating, "The fire is under control, and units will be on-scene for an extended period of time working on hot spots."
Despite the swiftness of the emergency services, details on the cause of the fire were not immediately available. The Pflugerville Fire Department's Facebook post, quoted on their page, highlighted the seamless cooperation: "Thank you to Hutto Fire Rescue and Travis County Emergency Services District 12 for the assistance."
No injuries were reported as a result of the incident, and while the fire crews were able to avert a larger catastrophe, the Pflugerville Fire Department indicated they would remain on the scene to manage any potential flare-ups.
