Phoenix police are soliciting the public's aid to unravel the mystery surrounding a young woman's demise whose body was discovered discarded alongside a road in south Phoenix. The deceased, found near 51st Avenue and Broadway Road on January 4, has yet to be named, and authorities are hoping a $2,000 reward will encourage tips that can illuminate her identity and the circumstances leading to her death. The woman is described as a Hispanic female, estimated to be between 16 and 23 years old, with dark brown hair, standing roughly 5'5", and weighing in at 180-220 pounds, according to a report by 12 News.
Arizona's Silent Witness program has stepped into the breach, spreading the word of this and other unsolved felonies through TV, radio, and social media, urging anyone with information about the unidentified young woman or other crimes to speak out. Found at about 8:00 a.m. on the side of the road, those privies to details regarding her death, or who could provide a lead to her recognition, are prompted to call or submit a tip online.
Witnesses with potentially pertinent intelligence are implored to contact Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS or 480-TESTIGO for Spanish speakers. Tips can also be securely relayed through the Silent Witness website or by employing their dedicated app, with the promise of confidentiality maintained for all informants. As covered by AZ Family, individuals whose tips culminate in an arrest stand to receive a monetary reward.
