An ordinary trip to score some donuts took a sharp turn when Pleasanton Police Department officers unearthed a hefty stash of fentanyl during a routine check at a local gas station last Saturday morning. According to the department's Facebook page, the encounter resulted in the recovery of around 64 grams of the powerful opioid, alongside brass knuckles and drug paraphernalia, casting a shadow on the couple's sugary errand.
The officers, drawn by the suspicious nature of the vehicle spotted at around 9:45 AM, approached a couple who said they were in the town to pick up donuts. It was during this interaction that the woman, openly on probation, revealed her companion was in possession of drugs. Following this tip, law enforcement officials executed a search that led to the discovery and arrest of both individuals in connection to the illicit substances found.
As the case unfolds, details about the individuals involved and the extent of their operation remain under wraps. "Officers recovered approximately 64 grams of fentanyl, brass knuckles, and other drug paraphernalia," stated a post from the Pleasanton Police Department's Facebook page.
