An unseen invader is wreaking havoc on Plymouth's ash trees, but local experts are preparing to fight back. Plymouth Parks & Forestry is hosting a free educational class on the Emerald Ash Borer (EAB), a pest responsible for the death of millions of ash trees annually. This session, open to the public, will take place from 7-8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 6 in the Aspen Room at the Plymouth Community Center, located at 14800 34th Ave. N.
The one-hour class aims to arm residents with the knowledge to identify and combat the invasive EAB. According to the official announcement, participants will learn how to spot the telltale signs of EAB infestation and what measures the Parks & Forestry department is implementing to save park and boulevard ash trees from the destructive beetle.
