Fears for a missing Houston woman have been allayed as Michaela Green, 20, was found safe, her family has confirmed. Previously reported missing, Green's whereabouts had been a source of community concern and police investigation following her disappearance on January 5.
According to FOX 26, the young woman's family had been coping with immense stress and worry. "I've been through some rough things, a lot. This here is by far the hardest," said Monique Tyler, Michaela's mother. Green's father, Chris said that it was a "nightmare" not knowing if his daughter was warm or safe amidst Houston's chill.
Click2Houston detailed the timeline of Michaela's disappearance, noting that she was last seen on Southway Drive. The Houston Police Department had broadcast their need for public assistance in locating her, urging anyone with information to step forward.
Concerns were initially raised after Michaela left her family's Southeast Houston apartment and subsequently vanished. "It's just been horrible," her father recounted to FOX 26.
Michaela, who stands 4 feet, 10 inches tall, and has brown hair and eyes, reportedly left home after an argument about house rules, as per Click2Houston. Her mother had gone to a nail salon following the disagreement, during which time Michaela disappeared.
The investigation saw Houston police examining Michaela's phone for any clues that could lead to her location. Though details regarding her recovery have not been divulged, her family has expressed immense relief. "I just need you to come back home. You can always come back here. I'm looking for you. I love you," her father expressed, a sentiment echoed by her mother who conveyed the family's love and support. The family's plea for her return now meets a heartening close, with Michaela found and presumed safe.
