Big changes are rolling into Round Rock as the city's trash is getting a new handler, folks—Central Texas Refuse has been scooped up by waste management bigwig Republic Services, the city's go-to for garbage and recycling announced this month.

Well, those familiar Central Texas Refuse trucks and their accompanying bins will soon get a fresh paint job—the stark, bold blue of Republic Services is gonna be the new shade in town. And listen, if your beat-up trash can is begging for retirement, the replacement's body will be blue, and the lids? They're staying informative, signaling trash or recycling at a glance, according to Round Rock Texas.
And get this, Michael Thane, the big kahuna for Utilities and Environmental Services in the area, is seeing the bright side, saying, "By having a larger service provider on board, we see this as an opportunity to enhance our waste management capabilities and to have the ability to pull in more resources when needed, including disaster situations," as per Round Rock Texas.
