A San Antonio babysitter has been arrested and charged with indecency after being accused of inappropriate behavior with the teen she was supposed to be watching over. Amris Celeste Vasquez, 19, faces allegations of indecency with a child by contact, a considerable second-degree felony that's shocked the local community.
According to reports, the victim, a 15-year-old girl under Vasquez's care, confided in her father about the distressing events. Fox San Antonio reports that the teen was asleep in bed when the accused allegedly initiated the disturbing contact. Sheriff Javier Salazar detailed that the victim was touched inappropriately by Vasquez who, having crawled into bed with her, ignited the series of illicit acts.
The situation further escalated when Vasquez reportedly sent the victim graphic videos, showing herself in sexual situations with another female. These explicit materials were unsolicited and serve to heighten the gravity of the charges against Vasquez. "Many times, the suspect will share inappropriate contact with the victim just to see what reaction they'll get," Sheriff Salazar pointed out the predatory nature of such actions, "It's put out there as bait and is followed up with inappropriate activity and physical touching," he told Fox San Antonio.
The case has been taken over by Child Safe investigators, who are tasked with unraveling the details of the allegations. The organization works to provide specialized services to children traumatized by abuse, emphasizing the severity of the charges Vasquez now faces.
