According to Express News, high points include the Taste of the Republic, a culinary highlight on April 18, and the Texas Cavaliers River Parade, making a splash on April 22.
Pre-Fiesta activities are already charting the event’s uplift, with the 2024 Poster Unveiling and the selection of Miss Fiesta igniting the celebratory spirit on January 31, as reported by Express News. Let’s not forget the Fiesta Teen Queen Coronation, a prelude to the main festivities, which is slated for March 24, enticing teens across the city. For the fitness enthusiasts, Fiesta FitFest will add a dash of endorphins from April 12 to 14.
The city's principal celebration, dubbed a "party with a purpose," uplifts San Antonio's community spirit in a showcase of tradition cutting across food, music, and history. As per KENS 5, the festival ain't just about the party—it's also a boon to San Antonio's economy, pumping in more than $340 million each year.
Tracing its roots back to 1891, Fiesta revers the memories of the heroes from the Alamo and the Battle of San Jacinto with the historic Battle of Flowers Parade. This iconic event, led entirely by women, has the distinction of being the only parade of its kind in the nation, as noted by KENS 5. Whether adorned with bedazzled boots or munching on chicken-on-a-stick, it's the combination of community spirit and festive joy that continues to define Fiesta’s unique charm.
