San Diegans are bracing for a blustery day as the National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a slew of warnings, including high wind, gale, and high surf advisories for the region. Residents especially in the mountain and desert areas are being cautioned to anticipate powerful winds with some gusts hitting up to a startling 70 to 80 mph, according to NWS Forecast. For those near the coast, winds are expected to reach up to 35 mph.

The wrath of Mother Nature won't stop at winds, as showers are also on the menu for late tonight through early Thursday. Coastal regions could see less than one-tenth inch of rainfall, while mountain areas might be soaked with up to a half inch of rain. For the snow enthusiasts, snow levels are set to drop to 4000 to 4500 feet, with several inches of accumulation predicted above 5000 feet, "The snow level will lower to 4000 to 4500 feet with snowfall of a few inches above 5000 feet for late tonight through early Thursday," informed the NWS.

The NWS has put out warnings that the tempestuous winds could make driving particularly hazardous for high-profile vehicles. Fallen tree branches and other debris are also a possibility that could lead to interruptions in your daily commute. "People should avoid being outside in forested areas and around trees and branches," recommends the NWS concerning the ominous weather conditions, as stated in their Watches, Warnings & Advisories release.

The coast is also set for some aquatic action with a high surf advisory in effect from this evening until Thursday evening. Swells could reach heights between 5 to 7 feet, with the more daring sets climbing to 11 feet. With an astronomical high tide predicted for Thursday morning, beachgoers might witness minor coastal flooding paired with potentially hazardous conditions for surfers and swimmers, the NWS cautions in their Beach Hazards Statement.

The city's skies aren't immune to the turmoil as the aviation sector might face disruptions, "Areas of MOD-STG up/downdrafts and LLWS possible over and east of the mountains," details the Area Forecast Discussion by the NWS. Mariners as well are being urged to take heed and stay ashore or seek safe harbor as gale warnings suggest severe wind and wave conditions out at sea could prevail till Thursday afternoon.
