A routine traffic stop in Santa Rosa took a grave turn when a loaded gun and methamphetamine stash were uncovered by an officer from the Santa Rosa Police Department (SRPD), the department reported. The incident took place yesterday, when an officer patrolling Burbank Avenue and Sebastopol Road pulled over a black Kia Optima after witnessing an unsafe lane change.

The driver, identified as 51-year-old Red Bluff resident Auddie Schrack, was on parole—which allows officers to conduct a warrantless search. The officer found a loaded Glock 43X 9mm handgun in a black bag at the passenger's feet, along with two more loaded magazines and extra ammunition. Besides the firearms, brass knuckles, glass pipes, and about 21.9 grams of methamphetamine were also found, according to the SRPD news release.

Schrack faces multiple charges including parole violation, possessing a loaded firearm in a vehicle by a prohibited person, being a felon in possession of a firearm, and a felon in possession of ammunition. His passenger, 42-year-old Misty Schrack also from Red Bluff, was arrested for possession of a loaded firearm in a vehicle, not being the registered owner, possession of methamphetamine, possession of narcotics paraphernalia, and possession of brass knuckles.

Both individuals were booked into Sonoma County Jail following the incident. The case, which highlights ongoing challenges in parole supervision and illegal firearms circulation, is cataloged under the Santa Rosa Police Department case number 24-574. Media inquiries regarding this event have been directed to Sgt. Patricia Seffens, the Public Information Officer for SRPD.
