In a significant move for Arizona's tech industry, Saras Micro Devices, specialized in supplying power to semiconductors, has officially switched on its new headquarters and manufacturing plant in Chandler. The company, which until recently called Atlanta home, has splashed out on a 33,000-square-foot facility, based at 3200 W. Germann Road, designed to bolster its ongoing quest in high-performance computing, artificial intelligence, and machine learning, as reported by Phoenix Business Journal.

The shift to Chandler is set to see Saras pour in upwards of $50 million into the locale, with the promise of creating 50 new jobs by 2025. "This move is not just a change in geographic location; it is an intentional strategic decision to align our vision with our customers in driving the U.S. semiconductor industry forward,” CEO Ron Huemoeller declared to Business Facilities. The relocation includes a jump to 43,000 square feet of space by the end of 2025, encompassing a 13,000-square-foot cleanroom intended to support the company's upscaling plans.

Already sharing digs with partner Yield Engineering Systems, which also opened its manufacturing plant on-site last year, Saras' presence strengthens the Price Corridor's status as a burgeoning tech hub rivaled by few. It's a magnet for top players like Intel, who are expanding their own operations in the area with a $20 billion injection to build two new fabs, a blockbuster venture that is set to bring 3,000 tech jobs to the table, on top of the 12,000-strong workforce already beavering away at Intel's Ocotillo campus. As part of this tech bonanza, Intel has also teamed up with Taiwan's United Microelectronics Corp. to kick off production of semiconductor chips come 2027, reported by Phoenix Business Journal.

Chandler's tech pool is deepening with new offices from sector players like Bechtel and Edwards Vacuum – everyone's keen to be near the semiconductor and electric vehicle action. "The City of Chandler is thrilled to further expand our semiconductor supply chain industry and bring another technology headquarters to our community with the addition of Saras Micro Devices," gushed Chandler Mayor Kevin Hartke, according to an interview with Business Facilities.

The stampede to Arizona is picking up pace, with over $77 billion of private investment rained down on the state's semiconductor, battery, and clean energy sectors since 2020. This bounty of tech treasure is a testament to the state's undeniable allure as a fertile ground for innovation and expansion in a market that's showing no signs of slowing down.
